
Luka Debeljak currently holds position of the technical lead in the regional DPE team responsible for many of the CEE countries, where he is supporting strategic opportunities by technical guidance and delivery of presentations about newest technological and development concepts on Microsoft platform. Luka joined Microsoft in 2003 as a Developer Evangelist in Microsoft Slovenia, was later promoted to DPE Lead for Slovenia and to DPE regional technical lead. His area of work mainly consists of customer and partner engagements on both technical and more business oriented topics with the focus on the holistic overview of the Microsoft platform and its roadmap.

In this session the focus will be all around data and how to store and access it in any modern application. Technologies covered will include WCF, ADO.NET Entity Framework, LINQ, Windows Azure, Project Velocity and ADO.NET Data Services. Some additional aspects such as Microsoft Sync Framework will be explained as well along with basic overview of the Windows Server development platform and Microsoft SQL Server.

The content of this session addresses technologies and approaches that can be used to develop such functionalities. Consequently Workflow services, BizTalk Server, Dublin Server Enhancements are explained, along with Visual Studio Team System and it's roadmap followed by the discussion about software factories, identity management and application modeling (Oslo).

End users interact with our software solutions through versatile clients and expect many different experiences and functionalities of the interface provided. Therefore client part of solutions is the most challenging one and it needs a whole set of different approaches and technologies. This session will provide general overview of Microsoft client technologies such as WPF, Silverlight, ASP.NET (AJAX) and Office System. Additionally some server products including Windows Server, IIS, SharePoint Server will be presented as wel. A part of the presentation will also cover client environments that can influence user experience like Windows platform, IE8 and Windows Mobile. Not to neglect the architectural part of the problem, we will briefly look into ASP.NET MVC, Live Mesh and Smart Client paradigm as the end.
